Fees, instalment options, scholarships and accommodation are explained on your 15-minute discovery call — tailored to the programme and length that fit your son, not a one-size price tag.

The selection

A four-step selection process.

Selection is on talent, character, and commitment — assessed remotely, so there is no need to travel for a trial. Two academic-year intakes: September and January. The earlier you start, the more flexibility on residence and visa.

1

Discovery Call

2

Eligibility & Application

Submit match footage, current playing record, and academic profile via the admissions portal.

Common questions

Questions families ask before they apply.

The Academy operates under the UK Student Route. On acceptance we issue a CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) through our education partner International Business College London. Our admissions team walks the family through the visa application, biometric appointment, and travel logistics. Students aged 16 and under-18s require additional parental-consent and travel documentation we provide as templates.

Training: West Ham United Foundation's purpose-built ground in Beckton (East London), plus the Human Performance Centre. Residence: Independent student residences and carefully selected homestays — single or shared rooms, full board, a dedicated residential team and 24×7 pastoral care. Homestays are half-board on weekdays and full board at weekends.

Academics are delivered by our partner International Business College London (IBCM). Options: International Foundation Diploma (3 terms or 6-month fast-track), AS / A-Levels, BTEC International Level 3 in Sport, or HND Sports / Business Management. All are OFQUAL-recognised and QAA quality-assured. The International Foundation Diploma provides a pathway to 80+ UK universities; the US Scholarship route supports NCAA D1, D2, and NAIA placement with SAT/TOEFL preparation.

Fees depend on the programme, the academic pathway, the length of stay, and accommodation choice — so we don't quote a single number that wouldn't apply to your son. On the 15-minute discovery call your admissions advisor walks you through the exact figure for the route that fits, instalment options, scholarships, and what is and isn't included. No payment is taken at that stage.

No. Selection is done remotely — you submit match footage and a playing record, and the WHU Foundation staff assess it and meet your son on a video interview. There's no need to fly to London for a trial week before a place is offered. Players join for the full academic year (or chosen length) once accepted.

The programme is built so that the pro pathway and the academic pathway advance in parallel, not sequentially. Every player leaves with a recognised academic qualification, a competitive playing record, and an active route to either UK university (via UCAS through IBCM) or a US sports scholarship (via NCAA D1 / D2 / NAIA). Career options span sports business and management, with university and professional routes supported.

Yes — by appointment. The fastest first step is a 15-minute discovery call with admissions; if the programme looks like a fit, we'll arrange an in-person or virtual tour of the WHUF Beckton training site and our student residences.
